ABOUT SEAN

The story behind the work

Sean Goddard is the founder and CEO of Viking Psychiatry & Wellness and a dual board-certified nurse practitioner in psychiatric-mental health and adult-gerontology primary care, based in Fort Wayne, Indiana. During the COVID-19 mental health crisis, confronting the shortage of psychiatric care in Northeast Indiana, he emptied his retirement savings and opened Viking in 2021. What began as a solo practice is now a multidisciplinary organization offering Deep TMS as a BrainsWay center, Spravato®, ketamine therapy, and ketamine-assisted psychotherapy across Fort Wayne and Warsaw.

A U.S. Army veteran who grew up in foster care, Sean has spoken openly about his own experience with severe depression and the treatments that changed his life. He is a speaker, educator, and weekly television contributor, and the author of the children’s book Blushbottoms: The Belonging Bear. His mission is simple: help people heal.
